Talk of the Town: Hotel-condominium proposed for South Kihei
Victory Development, a prominent development company here on the island, is proposing to build a 39-unit, three and four-story hotel condominium project in South Maui called the “Nani Loa.” The proposed development would be across from Kamaole Beach Park II, above the Kihei Kai Nani. In addition to the 39 units, the Nani Loa will have a common area, which will include a swimming pool, spa, covered recreational facilities, barbecue, exercise rooms, and two elevators.
No significant archaeological features were found during the assessment, and there will be no impact to rare or endangered plants and animals on the proposed development site (which is currently a vacant lot). There is a projected need for an additional 4,400 rooms for visitors in the Kihei-Wailea area by 2030, and Victory Development is hoping that this project will help contribute to that need.

This is a great article discussing pros and cons of swimming pools. This is often a highly debated topic here in Hawaii. We have access to the beach 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year; do you really need a swimming pool on your own property? A swimming pool can be convenient and it can give your family years of enjoyment, but you need to determine if it is the best investment in the long run.

This is a shot I got at the Ho’okipa lookout on the North Shore. Ho’okipa is by far one of my favorite places on the island. The waves here are fabulous and blissful to watch. It’s no surprise that this is constantly crowned the windsurfing capital of the world!
